Executive Director

Emily Mott

Emily Mott, a native of Lafayette, Louisiana, moved to Shreveport-Bossier City in 1983. With roots deep in both North and South Louisiana, she has a unique perspective of our great state. Emily has 35 years of experience in political and non-profit fundraising, marketing, development, and public relations, and an extensive project and solution management background, obtaining results for unique and challenging problems.

Her work experience combines Political and Governmental Relations with a commitment to community non-profits and a broad work background. This includes consulting, management, and fundraising for local and regional political campaigns and a political action committee. As the head of Public Relations and Business Development for a regional construction, property development, and management company, she directed marketing and public relations, project management, business and economic development, external affairs, standards, and event programming.

Before starting as Executive Director at the Red River Valley Association, she opened E. Mott Solutions LLC, Public Affairs & Business Consultancy; she has taken the position of Executive Director of Citizens For a Better Caddo, a Political Action Committee with a primary focus on education reform in Caddo Parish, and identification and campaign support of qualified candidates for the school board. Recently she was the campaign manager for a hotly contested State Senate race and led fundraising efforts and consulted for other local and regional political campaigns.

Professionally, her clients included members of the Louisiana State Senate and the Louisiana House of Representatives, a candidate for the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, sitting members of the Shreveport City Council and the Caddo Parish School Board, and the Hayride, a conservative political commentary site. Most recently, she has been the legislative assistant to a Louisiana State Representative while fundraising and consulting for local and regional political candidates.

Emily’s community involvement includes Barksdale Air Force Base Military Affairs Council. She was named Honorary Commander in 2017, a founding member of Roots for Boots, and a consultant for various base projects. She is a current board director at Louisiana Woman Lead and a member of the Policy Circle Leadership Council for Louisiana, the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association, the Public Relations Association of Louisiana, the National Federation of Republican Women, and a member of the Caddo and Bossier Republican Women’s groups. She has been a volunteer for Junior Achievement and Volunteers of America. Emily is the past president of the South Highlands Magnet School Foundation and past board director of Providence House, Shreveport Opera, Shreveport Symphony Guild, Shreveport Little Theater Guild, Southern Trace Country Club, and St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church Pastoral Council. She has also served as Downtown Shreveport Unlimited Mudbug Madness chair and Sleepout 4 Independence co-chair.

In her free time, Emily enjoys travel and painting and is an avid outdoorsman enjoying, boating, fishing, upland hunting, and sporting clays.
